I've been in love with beads and beading for many years now, since I was a kid I've hunted around for these little treasures that are so nice to hold and wear. 
What I especially like is lampwork beads, buying the glass to make these little pieces of art is just as much fun as searching for beads.
To sit mesmerised as you concentrate on making the molten glass do as you want it to do and then those days when it surprises you and does what it wants.  Opening up the kiln the next morning with fingers crossed that every thing is as you want it to  be and then the some times surprises that start you making again that day because you really like what happened in the kiln.
All my beads are kiln annealed for strength and durability.  I hope you enjoy taking a look as much as I enjoy creating them.

Surprised! yep Ive changed the site around a bit.  Ive decided to prioritise  my bead making above all my other social bits a pieces.  Im one of those suckers that can never say no, so hence Im always running around for everyone else and not doing things for me.  Stomp! so now its my turn.  heee wonder how long it lasts??
 
Im on a new computer as my last one was fried with a power surge..doh! Hopefully I can work everything out in the next week or so and get some recently made bead  pics up.
 
Rockhounds Gem and Mineral Club
Adelaide lampworkers are now very lucky to have a monthly meet.  Ive managed to secure club rooms which are available quite often for our use.  Every month I organise an agenda and go along on a Friday night hoping that someone else turns up..hahaa luckily they do!!! We have around 16 members so far, which is great for the 5 months we have been meeting.  In the pipe line is a gallery exhibition and possibly a bead fair.
If your a lampworker and in Adelaide come on out South and meet like minded people.
 
Southern Rockhounds Gem & Mineral Club
Gerald Ct, Christies Downs.
7pm, 1st  Friday of the month.  First visit is ok as a non member, after that you will need to join the club, cost is $20 for the year plus a one off joining fee of $10...each friday night you visit we just need $3.00 to cover costs of refreshments etc..
There will be auctions, challenges, stalls to buy goodies, have a stall yourself, workshops and demos.....guest speakers, exhibitions, fairs, show and tell the list is endless...

Guest Speaker
On Sunday the 4th Feb, I will be firing up the torch as guest speaker at the Northern Beaders Network in Holden Hill.  There will be a few beads for sale and a display of my past work.  I'll chat about beadmaking and how I got started.
 
Balaklava Bead Fair
Im having a stall at the bead fair in Balaklava, March 3rd and 4th.  Its the Adelaide Plains Festival and we will be having a bead fair in the Balaklava Town Hall.  Should be lots of fun, I'll have lots of lampwork beads for sale and a nice display.  Ok so its a bit of a drive (one hour from the Brickworks, Thebarton) but hey its a Bead Fair!!!
